LG OLED evo M5 4K 144Hz Wireless OLED TV starts rolling out

LG has announced the global availability of its new wireless OLED TV series, the LG OLED evo M5, after it was at the CES 2025 earlier this year. This television integrates LG’s wireless technology with the OLED picture quality of the G5 series, aiming to offer a streamlined home entertainment setup.

Wireless Connectivity and Performance

The M5 series incorporates LG’s “True Wireless technology,” which utilizes the Zero Connect Box to remove the need for a cable connection between the TV and external devices. This system is designed to provide visually lossless wireless video and audio transmission, supporting content up to 4K 144Hz with low input lag. LG states that the M5’s performance is comparable to that of a wired connection.

Gaming Capabilities

For competitive gamers, the M5 is compatible with both NVIDIA G-SYNC® and AMD FreeSync™ Premium, intended to reduce screen tearing and stuttering during gameplay at resolutions up to 4K 144Hz. Certified by Intertek for Qualified Gaming Performance, the M5 features a response time of less than 0.1ms, aiming for smooth and clear visuals during fast-paced action. The design allows gaming consoles and other devices to connect to the Zero Connect Box, which can be placed away from the TV, potentially simplifying cable management.

Home Cinema Features

The M5 also includes features for home cinema viewing, such as Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and Filmmaker® Mode with Ambient Light Compensation. It is powered by the α (Alpha) 11 AI Processor Gen2, which contributes to enhanced depth and detail through AI Picture Pro, while AI Sound Pro is designed to provide 11.1.2-channel audio. LG’s Brightness Booster Ultimate technology is intended to increase screen brightness. The M5 has received “Perfect Black” and “Perfect Color” verification from UL Solutions, along with certifications from Intertek for 100 percent color fidelity and 100 percent color volume. A “Perfect” grade from TÜV Rheinland further indicates the M5’s clarity in bright indoor environments.

Design and Setup

With a design aimed at a flush fit and reduced cable visibility, the LG OLED evo M5 seeks to provide an immersive entertainment experience while maintaining the performance standards associated with wired setups.
